 According to a report published by the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge in 2019, the water hardness in various regions of Spain ranges from 100 mg/L to over 400 mg/L of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Some examples of water hardness in different cities in Spain include: Madrid: 250-300 mg/L CaCO3; Barcelona: 170-260 mg/L CaCO3; Valencia: 200-300 mg/L CaCO3; Seville: 250-300 mg/L CaCO3; and Malaga: 180-220 mg/L CaCO3. It's worth noting that some regions in Spain have higher water hardness than others, and the exact water hardness may also vary depending on the time of year and other factors. Water hardness can impact the taste and quality of tap water, and may also affect the performance and lifespan of household appliances that use water, such as coffee machines or washing machines.
