Korean Crystal Growth Society Commits to Technological Innovation and International Collaboration
The 9th Asian Conference on Crystal Growth and Crystal Technology (CGCT-9), organized by the Korean Crystal Growth Society (President: Seung-Min Kang, Professor at Hanseo University), successfully concluded its three-day event from June 24 to 26, 2024, at the Ara Convention Hall of Jeju National University.
This international academic conference, held alternately every three years by the Korean, Chinese, and Japanese Crystal Growth Societies, saw the participation of over 200 experts worldwide. Passionate discussions and the exchange of knowledge and research marked the event.
CGCT-9 covered the latest semiconductors, batteries, optics, and quantum dots research and technologies. Keynote speakers included Professor Koichi Kakimoto from Tohoku University in Japan and Professor Zhanggui Hu from Hefei University of Technology in China, who provided insights into technological advancements. Notably, Emeritus Professor Geun-Ho Oh from Hanyang University, a founding member of the Korean Crystal Growth Society and the Asian Conference on Crystal Growth and Technology, shared the history, future, and vision of crystal growth science.
Over the past 30 years, the Korean Crystal Growth Society has contributed to the advancement of core technologies for single-crystal materials. CGCT-9 reaffirmed the crucial role of crystal growth and technology in future industries, including the Fourth Industrial Revolution and environmental technology. The society aims to continue promoting international academic exchange and technological innovation, contributing to the development of global crystal growth science.
Additionally, BioCera Co., Ltd. (CEO Dr. JEON Hyoung-Tag) presented a poster session on the effects of alkaline hydrogen minerals utilizing quantum dots and participated as a sponsor of this year's conference.
